Valdander Baths

Not far from the road from S. Martino to Antermoia, we find a dense forest throat, the renowned Valdander Baths (constructed in 1820). Even though their origin is quite uncertain; tradition says that the healing characteristics of water were already known by the people in this area, who used the water for having baths in the small nearby grottos. Today, a new building, a hotel with a balnear structure, can be found near the old complex.
From an analysis we now know that this water contains sulphate, lime, fluorine, bicarbonate, magnesium and potassium.
The mineral water of the Valdander Baths supports the healing of various ailments, those rheumatic in nature in particular.
The rustic baths are open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
(only during seasons).

Sarighela Hay Bath

Since ancient times the farmers in the Dolomites loved to wrap themselves into a coat of hay in the "tablà" after a hard day of work.
"Sarighela" is the original name of our huts at the Passo delle Erbe, where herbs and officinal plants are picked in order to offer a haybath to the guests. Haybaths are widespread and renowned for a long period everywhere in Tyrol, especially for combating pains in arms and legs. From the beginning of the XIX century we also find written documents about this, even then ancient tradition. At the meadows around Pütia, the cure of transpiration caused by the fermentation of fresh hay was very common as the people were convinced of the particular beneficial power of herbs rich in ethereal oil.
The Sarighela Baths offer haybaths (in a traditional way with alpine herbs), massages, sauna-sanarium, other baths such as Kneipp, homemade products and an artist gallery.
Advanced booking for haybaths is necessary (freshly cut grass)!
